i can’t seem to understand the ingredients in plastics. i sort of get it, but still?
Friday, February 6th, 2009in the middle of a project and need the knowledge…
is a polymerizing substance added to the resin to create a substance… i mean not like a catalyst or anabolist but more of an ingredient to make the final product after it sets or is it a final product once the phenol resin sets and cools?
does anyone know the basic ingredients you have to have to make plastic? like maybe resin, binder etc etc… the main stuff a plastic is made of… and where do the polymer things go in in the solution?
is the phenol-formaldehyde (phen…plastic) resin already the polymer or just another component?… and where does lactic acid (polymer form) or other polymers go in? is lactic polymer (or whatever they call it) a filler, stabilizer, the main component, an additive or what? what’s in wood that makes it a possible filler? and what are the antiaging stuff they put in the plastics?… thanx people…
